KANSAS CITY —Two people died in an accident just after 4p.m. Sunday in Kansas City.
A Mazda CX5 was southbound on Bennington at a very high rate of speed, according to KCPD Captain Corey Carlisle. The driver of the Mazda failed to stop for the posted stop sign at 17th Street.
The SUV entering the intersection and struck an east bound Toyota Camry. The driver and rear seat juvenile passenger of the Toyota were both declared deceased at the scene.
EMS transported the driver of the Mazda to a local hospital with critical injuries and was in stable condition late Sunday.
The investigation, to include suspected impairment, is ongoing, according to Carlisle. Police have not released names of the victims.
