The Great Bend Alive Plaza will be open again tonight in downtown Great Bend. The event features live music, food, games and drinks along the sidewalks and street on Forest Avenue between Main and Williams Streets.

This is the fourth time the plaza has been open on a Friday night. Great Bend Economic Development Director Sara Hayden said everyone will find something to enjoy.

"We have done everything we can to create the best atmosphere possible,” Hayden remarked. “There are tables, chairs, umbrellas. We made it easy with a bunch of tents showing you where you can go for your drinks and your food. So honestly, you just go down and expect to hang out with your friends, your family, the community. Have a great time, listen to some music, eat your food, grab a drink and just have an awesome time.”

The Barton Community College baseball and softball teams are volunteering to help set up the plaza’s tables, chairs and umbrellas. The band Lightfoot and Buehler, an acoustic duo, will be performing.
