ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement in northeast Kansas are investigating a Kansas felon on new allegations.
Just before 10a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the area of 15th and Kansas Avenue in Atchison to investigate a threat that had been made by a person riding a bicycle, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Officers located that person, 34-year-old Jesse Ferris, in the 1300 block Kansas Avenue. He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and taken into custody on requested drug charges.
The case involving the threat remains under investigation. Ferris has previous convictions for theft, burglary and drugs, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
