FORD COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 5:30a.m. Friday in Ford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Kenworth semi driven by Michael Adam&nbsp;McDonough, 32, Park City, was&nbsp;westbound on U.S. 54 just west of Kingsdown.

The semi traveled left of center and struck an eastbound 2005 Peterbilt semi driven by Randy&nbsp; Trevino Almeida, 35, Amarillo, Texas, in the passenger side. After impact both semis caught fire, according to Ford County Sheriff Bill Carr.

EMS transported Trevino to Wesley Medical Center.&nbsp;&nbsp;McDonough was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the K HP.&nbsp; Highway 54 between Kingsdown and Minneola was shut down for a considerable amount of time due to the crash..
