KHP IDs drivers in southwest Kansas semi crash, fire

FORD COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 5:30a.m. Friday in Ford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Kenworth semi driven by Michael Adam McDonough, 32, Park City, was westbound on U.S. 54 just west of Kingsdown.

The semi traveled left of center and struck an eastbound 2005 Peterbilt semi driven by Randy  Trevino Almeida, 35, Amarillo, Texas, in the passenger side. After impact both semis caught fire, according to Ford County Sheriff Bill Carr.

EMS transported Trevino to Wesley Medical Center.  McDonough was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the K HP.  Highway 54 between Kingsdown and Minneola was shut down for a considerable amount of time due to the crash..
