Kansas man dead, 2 injured after 3-vehicle crash

WYANDOTTE COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just before 9:30a.m. Wednesday in Wyandotte County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Rickey Don Newman, 75, Edwardsville, was eastbound in the number one lane of Kansas 32 just west of southbound Interstate 435.

The SUV struck a 2007 Chevy Silverado driven by Demond Anthony McMillian, 41, Edwaardsville, who was stopped at the traffic signal on Kansas 32 at the Interstate 435 southbound exit ramp intersection in the left turn lane.

After impact the Silverado struck a 2022 Ford Transit van driven by   Bradley Wayne  Guthrie, 26, Basehor. 

Newman was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics.  EMS transported a passenger in the Explorer Franklin Dale Newman, 50, Edwardsville, to Overland Park Regional. A private vehicle transported McMillian to an area hospital. Guthrie was not injured. The KHP did not have seat belt usage details.
