SEDGWICK COUNTY–Authorities are investigating an incident at McConnell Air Force Base that prompted a lockdown.

Just after 6a.m. Tuesday, a juvenile in a stolen car led to the closure of entrances to the base in Wichita.

The underage driver had no affiliation to the base, according to a media release from the 22nd Air Refueling Wing.

Security measures in place stopped the vehicle. The driver fled on foot and he was apprehended a short time later.

Officials reopened gates to the base shortly after 8a.m.  Authorities released no additional details late Tuesday morning.
