KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a police chase and crash.
Just before 11p.m. Sunday., Sugar Creek Police notified officers in Liberty that they were involved in a vehicle pursuit which was coming into the city Liberty, according to a media release.
A short time later, police learned the suspect's vehicle had crashed into a house and the suspect fled on foot.
Officers quickly located the suspect and engaged in a foot pursuit. After a short distance, police took the person into custody.
A person in the house sustained serious injuries. EMS transported them to a hospital. On Tuesday, police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Brandon Trent of Kansas City. On Monday, the Clay County Prosecutor's Office charged him with Assault 2nd Degree, Felony Resisting Arrest and Property Damage 1st Degree. He is scheduled for court on Thursday, according to online jail records.
