JEWELL COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 5:30p.m. Friday in Jewell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Ford F150 driven by Dennis L Simonton, 66, Richmond, Missouri, was southbound on Randall Road just south of A Road, approximately five miles south of the city of Randall. The driver lost control of the pickup. The vehicle traveled off the road to the east into a field and rolled onto its roof.
Simonton was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Melby Mortuary in Mankato. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
