Kan. man with a dozen previous convictions jailed for burglary

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforceement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new allegations after an arrest.

Just after 4a.m. March 14, police responded to a burglary in progress in the 500 block of SW Taylor Street in Topeka, according a media release. 

Police found a suspect who later identified as 39-year-old as Jerry L. Harmon II, 39, of Topeka. He had a firearm and officers took him into custody.

He is being held on requested charges of Aggravated burglary, criminal trespass, criminal possession of a weapon, drug possession and failire to obey an officer.

Harmon has a dozen previous felony convictions that include aggravated assault, aggravated battery, theft, obstruction, flee or attempt to elude law enforcement and for drugs, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.  He was released from prison in July.
