Kansas man accused of murder during robbery in July

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement investigating a July homicide have made an arrest.

Just after midnight July 20, police responded to a shooting in the 2900 block of Southwest Topeka Boulevard, according to Topeka Police Lt. Ronnie Connell.

 Officers located a victim later identified as  31-year-old Earon Cooper of Lawrence suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On Wednesday, police reported the arrest of 21-year-old Silas Kriner of Baldwin City, Kansas. He is being held on requested charges of 1st Degree Murder and Aggravated Robbery.

This incident is the Topeka Police Department’s 11th homicide investigation of 2024, according to Connell.
