KANSAS CITY— Law enforcement are investigating a deadly shooting at an apartment building in Kansas City have identified the victim as 22-year-old Terry Adrian, according to KCPD Police Captain Jake Becchins.
Just after 11a.m. Wednesday, the Kansas City Fire Department was responding to a medical call at the Georgian Court Apartment Complex in the 400 block of E. Armour Boulevard in Kansas City, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
While on scene at that location a shooting occurred just outside the lobby of the apartment building.
The fire department crew on scene heard the gunshots and requested Police emergency response and additional resources.
One patient, later identified as Terry, was treated and and transported in critical condition. He died a short time later, according to Kansas City Police. The original medical call was handled by the additional resources ordered, according to Hopkins.
Responding officers located a person of interest near the scene.
A preliminary investigation led police to believe that there was a confrontation between the victim and the person of interest prior to the shooting. KC Fire crews were not in danger at the time of the shooting, according to Hopkins.
