CAMDEN COUNTY —A Kansas woman critically injured in a near drowning over the weekend has died.
On July 29, troopers responded to Ha Ha Tonka State Park Mouth of the Spring for a swimmer in distress, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Yolanda Munoz-Garcia, 19, Kansas City, Kansas, was swimming in the current. She went below the surface of the water and did not resurface on her own. A bystander pulled her back to the surface and she was admitted to Lake Regional Hospital in critical condition.
On Wednesday, the patrol reported Munoz-Garcia died just after 6p.m. on Monday.
