Earthquake shakes portions of central Kansas

SALINE COUNTY—A small earthquake shook portions of central Kansas Thursday morning.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, the 3.5 magnitude earthquake was centered approximately four miles east of Assaria in southern Saline County at 5:45 a.m.  The quake measured 3.1, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Social media posts show that the earthquake was felt as far south as north of Canton in McPherson County. Just after 7a.m., the Saline County Sheriff's office reported no calls about the quake, no damage or injuries have been reported.

On November 10, a 4.0 magnitude quake was centered near Bennington just north of Saline County.
