KANSAS CITY—One person died in an accident just after 7a.m. Sunday in the Kansas City-area.
A Volkswagen Jetta was eastbound on Interstate 70 at Manchester at a very high rate of speed, according to Police Captain Corey Carlisle.
The Volkswagen struck the left rear end of a Jeep Laredo. After the impact, the Volkswagen rolled several times. The unrestrained driver and sole occupant of the Volkswagen was ejected from the vehicle and was declared deceased at the scene.
EMS transported the driver of the Jeep to a local with non-life-threatening injuries. This is fatality 95 compared for 81 at this time last year, according to Carlisle. Police did not released the name of the driver who died.
