MANHATTAN – Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged case of child sexual assault and have made a second arrest this week.
On November 24, officers filed a report for rape and aggravated criminal sodomy in Manhattan involving a 12-year-old girl as the victim and a 19-year-old male known to her as the suspect, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
Just after 11:35 a.m. Friday, police arrested Zelond Benymon, 19, of Ft. Riley was arrested in connection on requested charges that included 3 counts of rape and two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy.
Benymon was issued a total bond of $350,000.00 and is confined in the Riley County Jail.
On Monday afternoon, police arrested Tavian Garrett, 23, of Manhattan on on requested charges that include five counts of rape and five counts of aggravated criminal sodomy.
Police released no additional details.
