KBI: Inconsistencies in reported NW Kansas abduction

DECATUR COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating a report of kidnapping and sexual assault in Oberlin, Kansas, according to a media release from the agency.

On June 1, the KBI was asked by the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office to assist with an investigation into the report of a man’s kidnapping and sexual assault. After further investigation, KBI agents determined that several inconsistencies existed in the statements made by the reporting party.

The community can be assured that no threat exists related to this incident.
