OKLAHOMA CITY —Authorities investigating a deadly small plane crash have identified the victims as Barrett Ellis and his wife Megan Ellis, according to the Sooner Nation Collective and the University of Oklahoma Foundation.
Just before 10:30a.m. Sunday, the Oklahoma City Fire Department was dispatched to an aircraft crash at Wiley Post Airport involving one single engine prop plane with two on-board, according to a media release. Firefighters arrived to find Barrett Ellis attempting to rescue his wife from the fully engulfed aircraft wreckage.
Firefighters extinguished the aircraft and began treating him. Megan Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene. First responders treated Barrett Ellis on-scene and transported him to an area hospital in critical condition where he later died.
