Jury: Kansas suspect moved victim from murder scene

KANSAS CITY —A jury convicted a Kansas man in connection with the fatal shooting of Daniel L. Washington near the area of 40th and Agnes that occurred in April of 2020, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

Ivan D. Mock, 36, was convicted of Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action. 

According to court records, Washington was found by responding Kansas City Police Department officers near 39th and Main. He had been fatally shot in the passenger seat of a vehicle.

Witnesses told police that the shooting had occurred near 40th and Agnes, but the car was driven to 39th and Main. They found a police patrol wagon parked in front of the CVS there and sought help for the victim. Witnesses identified Mock as the person who shot the victim, Daniel L. Washington. Mock will be sentenced on March 19.
