2 hospitalized after crash during police chase

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident during a police chase just after 8:30p.m. Monday in Sedgwick County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Ford Econoline van driven by Derrick Easter, 42, Madison, North Carolina, was  fleeing from Law Enforcement at the intersection of 11th and Meridian.

The driver lost control of the van and it rolled. EMS transported Easter and a passenger Catherine Denise Henry, 52, Owasso, Oklahoma, to St. Francis Medical Center. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.  The KHP did not report what prompted the chase.
