WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Law enforcement authoriites investigating a homicide that occurred in the 2000 Block of N. 18th Street in Kansas City, Kansas have identified the victim as 32-year-old Darrius Fant of Kansas City, Kansas, according to police detectives.
Shortly after midnight Saturday, police were dispatched to a shots fired call, according to a media release from the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department
First responders found Fant who had been struck by gunfire in a parking lot and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second man was also found struck by gunfire. He was transported to an area hospital and he remains in critical condition.
This incident is under investigation by the KCKPD Major Case Unit. Police have not released the names of the victims or reported an arrest.
