KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an aggravated assault suspect who was fleeing Kansas City police and involved in a three vehicle crash.
A Nissan Rogue was westbound on Truman Road, at a very high rate of speed fleeing police, according to KCPD Police Captain Jake Beccina.
The Nissan failed to stop for a red traffic control light at the intersection of Van Brunt.
The Nissan struck a southbound Honda CRV that was traveling through the green light. After impact, the Nissan driver lost control of the SUV. It slid and struck an eastbound Cadillac Deville nearly head-on and pushed the Cadillac into a metal light pole.
The Nissan continued past the Cadillac where it came to final rest in front of 4933 Truman Road.
The drivers of the Honda and the Cadillac were not injured in the collision. The driver of the Nissan was not wearing his seatbelt. He was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries and then police took the driver into custody, according to Becchina. Police did not release the suspects name.
