Burglary suspect caught taking items from Kansas school

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a burglary at a school and have made an arrest.

Just after 3:30 a.m. April 10, police responded to a reported burglary at Sheldon Headstart, 1155 SW Seabrook Avenue in Topeka, according to Police spokesperson Rosie Nichols.

Officers located a suspect identified as Blayne R. Blevins, 31, of Topeka, with stolen property. As a result of the investigation, Blevins was later arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Burglary; Dwelling to commit felony, theft, DV, or sexually motivated crime, Theft <$1,500 From Building and interference with LEO; obstruct/resist/oppose felony warrant service or execution.
