BUTLER COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 9p.m. Wednesday in Butler County.
According to Butler County Undersheriff Daimon Cundiff, a Dodge Caravan driven by Elli Humig, 28, El Dorado was westbound in the 3600 Block of Southeast U.S. 54 east of El Dorado.
The van crossed the center line and appeared to correct back into the westbound lanes. An eastbound Dodge Ram truck driven by Patrick McConaghie, 43, Yates Center struck the van in the driver side door.
Humig was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported McConaghie and a 5-year-old boy in the van to a Wichita hospital. The boy had critical injuries, according to Cundiff. The accident remains under investigation.
