DOUGLAS COUNTY —Authorities have identified Melinda Sue McCluskey, 57, whose last known address was rural Edgerton, as the person found deceased in the Kansas River on December 21, according to Douglas County sheriff's department spokesman George George Diepenbrock.
Detectives worked with the coroner’s office to confirm a positive identification and notified McCluskey’s family members on Friday.
Family members had reported her missing to law enforcement in Douglas County on Dec. 3. At this time, there is no indication of foul play. Results of a coroner’s report are pending.

DOUGLAS COUNTY —Authorities are investigating after a body was found in the Kansas River.
Just after 1p.m. Thursday a person reported seeing a possible body in the water about 300 yards east of Bowersock Dam at the Kansas River, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's office.
The Douglas County Underwater Search and Recovery team and sheriff's office investigators responded and recovered a body in shallow water in that area.
Deputies and Coroner Scene Investigators are working on making a positive identification of the person. The sheriff's office released no additional details.
