Sheriff asks for help to ID victim in fatal Kan. pedestrian accident

BUTLER COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident and asking the public for help to identify the victim.

Just after 9p.m. Monday, Butler County emergency crews responded to the report of a vehicle vs pedestrian accident on U.S. 54 between SW Indianola Road and SW Tawakoni Road east of Andover, according to Undersheriff Daimon Cundiff.

 The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation of the crash scene indicates that a westbound 2015 Honda According struck the pedestrian who was walking in the outside westbound lane of traffic of U.S. 54

 Driver impairment is not believed to be a factor but it will take time for test results for the pedestrian.

The Sheriff’s Office has been unable to identify the pedestrian. He is described as a white or hispanic male believed to be in his twenties, with short black hair, a short beard, numerous tattoos and was dressed in black jeans and a gray tank top.
