SALINE COUNTY—Saline County emergency officials have lifted the evacuation notice was  for all those within two miles of Hohneck and Watkins Roads as crews continue fighting a grass fire northwest of Salina.

The large grass fire is roughly 5-7 miles northwest of Salina, according to the National Weather Service.

An evacuation notice had been issued just before 2p.m. for all those within two miles of Hohneck and Watkins Roads.

The fire that started on the south side of Intersate 70 between Muir and Headville Road crossed the interstate and is now burning north toward Culver, prompting the evacuation.

Additionally, the interstate has low to no visibility due to smoke in the area of Interstate 70 west of Interstate 135. Avoid the interstate and take an alternate route if you must travel. Air support is en route to the area.
