COWLEY COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 9p.m. Sunday in Cowley County.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 2000 Dodge Stratus driven by Stephanie Thielen, 34, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, was traveling across U.S. 77 Highway at 332nd Road to proceed southbound, according to Cowley County Undersheriff Christina McDonald.
The car struck a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by Shawn Calhoun, 37, of Arkansas City, Kansas.
Calhoun was pronounced deceased at the scene. The sheriff's office released no additional details. Check the Post for more information as it becomes available.
