loses, the game would be hosted by the higher-seeded team. The
top-seeded Chiefs are hosting Jacksonville, while the No. 2 seed
Bills are facing Cincinnati. The NFL revised its playoff format after
Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field, leaving the
Chiefs with one more game than the Bills.

next season. Rodgers discussed the uncertainty of his future plans

SiriusXM and YouTube. The four-time MVP hasn’t decided whether to
return to the Packers, retire or request a trade. Rodgers said he
didn't know whether Green Bay would represent the ideal situation for
him and expressed hope the Packers would keep several of their

seeks to treat athletes as employees who are paid for their time. It
is the latest test of amateurism in college sports. The Division I
athletes who filed the suit being argued next month want hourly wages
similar to those earned in work-study programs. They say the nation’s
colleges are violating fair labor practices by failing to pay them
for the time they put into their sports. Baylor University President
Linda Livingston, chairperson of the NCAA's Board of Governors, says
the idea would have a "potentially catastrophic impact on
college sports.”

Police say Georgia football player Devin Willock wasn't wearing a
seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle in a weekend crash that
killed him and a recruiting staff member. Athens-Clarke County police
list excessive speed on a road with a 40 mph limit as a primary cause
of the crash early Sunday. The wreck occurred in Athens a few hours
after a parade and ceremony honoring the team's second straight
national championship. The 20-year-old Willock, an offensive lineman
from New Jersey, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the
vehicle, 24-year-old recruiting analyst Chandler LeCroy, died shortly
after at a hospital.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kansas State coach Jerome Tang grabbed a microphone and stood amid a sea of purple, moments after delirious fans had flooded the floor to celebrate the No. 13 Wildcats' 83-82 overtime win over second-ranked Kansas on Tuesday night.

“You have one court-storming,” the Wildcats' first-year coach told them over the din. “After this, we expect to win.”

Expectations are sure to soar in the Little Apple now.

After blowing a 14-point first-half lead, the Wildcats responded to every haymaker Kansas threw down the stretch. And when their game went to overtime, and players kept fouling out, Keyontae Johnson delivered for Kansas State, throwing down a go-ahead alley-oop dunk with 25 seconds left that ultimately proved to be the difference.

“In order to elevate," Johnson said later, “we have to beat teams like Kansas.”

Johnson and Desi Sills finished with 24 points apiece, and Nae'Qwan Tomlin had 15 points and 10 boards, as the Wildcats (16-2, 5-1 Big 12) bounced back from a blowout loss to TCU by beating the Jayhawks for the first time since Feb 5, 2019.

Jalen Wilson tried to take over in overtime for Kansas, converting a three-point play, knocking down a 3-pointer and making a pair of free throws for an 82-80 lead with just over a minute to go. But after Johnson made a free throw at the other end, Wilson missed a deep 3-pointer as the shot-clock expired to give the Wildcats another chance.

After a timeout, Markquis Nowell threw the lob that Johnson slammed down for an 83-82 advantage.

Kansas (16-2, 5-1) also called a timeout to set up its own finishing play, but normally sure-handed Dajuan Harris Jr. lost the ball in traffic, and the Jayhawks never got a chance to put up a potentially winning shot.

“If you told me we’d have the ball with a chance to win twice, that’s something I’d probably sell out for,” Kansas coach Bill Self said. “That last possession is one possession I probably wish we could take back.”

Wilson played all 45 minutes and finished with a career-high 38 points for the Jayhawks. KJ Adams had 17 points and Gradey Dick had 16, though both of the key players were riding the bench at the finish after fouling out.

Both teams had chances to win in the final 30 seconds of regulation.

Kansas had possession first with 23 seconds to go and the game tied at 72, only to watch Harris lose control near the midcourt line — much like he did at the finish to overtime. The Wildcats grabbed the loose ball and pitched it ahead to Johnson, but the star forward missed a wild shot at the rim just before the buzzer sounded.

Johnson wouldn't miss when he got another winning chance in overtime.

It was the most anticipated Sunflower Showdown in years, drawing a capacity crowd that snaked around Bramlage Coliseum hours before tipoff as it waited to get in. and it was the less-regarded Wildcats rather than the defending national champions that demonstrated early poise and precision.

Kansas State made its first five 3-pointers and shot 52% from the field in the first half. It stuffed Wilson, the Big 12's top scorer, three times before he made a basket. And at one point, the Wildcats led by as many as 14 points.

“They were shooting lights-out,” Adams said.

Yet there's a reason the Jayhawks entered the night 29-5 in Bramlage Coliseum.

They always seem to deal with the pressure there.

Wilson finally got on track, scoring 12 in the first half, and Adams found success with floaters in the lane, pouring in 15 by the break. The Jayhawks eventually closed down the perimeter, forcing Kansas State to unsuccessfully drive to the basket, and they slowly trimmed away at their deficit, closing within 44-39 by halftime.

Despite foul trouble, the Jayhawks eventually made it all the way back, taking their first lead since the opening minutes at 59-57 with just under 8 minutes to go. But neither team was willing to give up down the stretch.

That's why 40 minutes wasn't enough to decide it.

“The great thing about basketball is we’ll have another game in two days, three days. We can't dwell on this,” Wilson said quietly. “We have another good team coming up and we’ll see them again. That's the beauty of the Big 12.”

Kansas hung around despite foul trouble, going 24 of 34 on free throws and shooting 6 of 29 from the 3-point arc. The Jayhawks did it by turning around early turnover trouble and effectively getting to the rim on offense, though they weren't able to do that given one last chance in overtime.

Kansas State relies heavily on Nowell to make things happen, particularly on offense, and his worst games have led to losses. He was held to 13 points by Butler and committed five turnovers against TCU. But despite scoring just four points against Kansas, he piled up seven assists with none more important than the last.

Kansas returns home to play No. 14 TCU on Saturday. Kansas State plays Texas Tech the same day.

The Barton Community College women's track and field team opened the 2023 indoor season with six national qualifying performances competing at the Graduate Classic hosted by the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Cougars completed the two-day meet with the good start of six qualifiers in also recording two personal bests among its sophomores and finishing with six top ten placers.

Highlighting the achievements was a pair of top ten performers in the shot put by Kelsie Murrell-Ross and Treneese Hamilton. Murrell-Ross picked up where she left off from an impressive freshman campaign to not only take 3rd place behind a pair of UNL throwers, but marked a personal best 15.57m (51-01.00) on her third throw of the day to move up a slot to 4th place on the program's all-time chart. Hamilton also reached national qualifying standards in the event, making the most of her third of three throws with a 13.13m (43-01.00) to cap her freshman debut.

Also making a splash in her collegiate debut, multi-event performer Ana Couto competed in just one event on the weekend, taking 5th place in the 60m hurdles with a national qualifying 8.90 seconds. Deborah Lowe also had a good event in recording a personal best 9.18 to kick off her sophomore campaign in finishing 13th out of the 28-athlete field in coming up just .10 seconds from the qualifying time.

Barton added a trio of 8th place finishers, Naiya Morgan running the 600m for the first time in her now second year as a Cougar in a qualifying time of 1:39.18 with freshman Kay-Lagay Clarke long jump debut marking a 5.31m (17-05.25).

The Cougars' other 8th place finish came in the 4x400m relay as the tandem of Lowe, Morgan, Danae Nembhard, and Antiana Walsh met qualifying standards with a 3:57.42 oval time.

Efe Latham completed Barton's list of qualifiers from the weekend with a 14.99m (49-02.25) weight throw in placing 18th overall in the event.

Barton is back on the track next Saturday in Topeka, Kansas, competing in the Washburn Rust Buster at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.

The Barton Community College men's track and field team opened the 2023 indoor season with eight national qualifying performances competing at the Graduate Classic hosted by the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Seven of the Cougars' qualifiers came from the field event performances as Barton mixed its track athletes competing in different events of the season debut to come away with seven top ten placings in the two-day meet.

Leading the field achievements were a trio of qualifiers in the shot put. It took just his second throw for a 3rd place mark for Brandon Lloyd as the sophomore began his season moving up two spots on the all-time list to 5th overall best with a 17.87m (59-07.50). A pair of freshmen joined Lloyd in the event as Christopher Young's 16.59m (54-05.25) and Christopher Crawford's 16.40m (53-09.75) were good for 7th and 8th place respectively of the 28-man field.

Lloyd and Crawford also picked up national tickets from Friday's weight throw competition, Lloyd throwing a 17.05m (55-11.25) while Crawford marked a 16.20m (53-01.75).

Jalen McGee, a two-time seventh place finisher at last year's national indoor championships competing for State Fair Community College, will be headed back to the championships in both the long and high jumps following his Cougar debut runway of 7.08m (23-02.75) to place 4th of the 26-jumper field and rising to a 2.00m (6-06.75) height to finish 9th of the 20-man high riser field.

Barton's lone track qualifying performance came in the 600m as sophomore standout Elijah Mosley took on the 600m for his first time, clocking a 1:18.60 for a program top fifteen time, in placing 3rd of the 24-man start list behind a pair of Iowa State University sprinters.

The Cougars are back on the track next Saturday in Topeka, Kansas, competing in the Washburn Rust Buster at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.

Field events lead Barton men's track and field Graduate Classic

The home confines of the Walnut Bowl were not so friendly to the Panther boys during Monday's Western Athletic Conference competition. The Lady Panthers cruised to a third-straight WAC win 11-2, but the boys lost their battle 11-2 on the varsity side and 13-0 in junior varsity action. 

The Lady Panthers had the top-four individual series and won the team side with 2,342 total pins, compared to 2,052 for Garden City. Kaylin Wahlmeier nearly reached a 700 series to win with a 678. Sahara Rhiza rolled a 600 for second, and Aliyah Fryberger placed third with a 559.

There were just five 200 games rolled on the girls' side and Wahlmeier and Rhiza split four of those. Wahlmeier opened with a 268, went 193 in the middle game, and closed with a 217. Rziha followed that pattern with a 221, 178, and 201. Fryberger topped out with a 197 middle game and finished with a 188.

Zoey Mayberry rolled a 476 for seventh, followed by Emilee Nelson in ninth with a 454, and Rionna Rodriguez with a 401 for 11th.

The scores flipped on the boys' side with the Buffaloes taking the top-four spots. That resulted in 2,584 pins for Garden City, and 2,165 for Great Bend.

Garden City sophomore KJ Burns finished second in Class 6A last year. Monday he opened with a 276 and 200 to finish with a series-high 666. A 577 was needed to crack the top four.

Jalen Daniels paced the Panthers in fifth with a 546, that included a consistent 188, 177, and 181. Dylan Ferguson finished three pins behind him for sixth, including games of 184 and 196 to start his day. Kolby Burnham also started strong with a 183 and 192 before struggling to a 132 in his finale to drop to eighth with a 507.

Jordan Manning rolled a 497 for 10th, Kamron Stude placed 11th with a 481, and Caleb McNett finished at 467 in 12th. Manning rolled a 192 in his middle game but finished with a 138.

The bowlers take a week off from competition before heading to Hays next Tuesday.

this season than the Kansas City Chiefs, and that was the three-win

won seven straight AFC West titles and been to the past four
conference championship games is a hardened group of veterans, the
reality is strikingly different. Kansas City plays Jacksonville in
the divisional round of the playoffs on Saturday at Arrowhead
Stadium.

Dak Prescott outplayed Tom Brady, throwing for four touchdowns and
running for another to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a 31-14 victory
over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in an NFC wild-card playoff game.
Prescott completed 25 of 33 passes for 305 yards and played
turnover-free ball for the first time in eight games as the Cowboys
dominated the listless Bucs in what may turn out to be Brady’s last
game in a Tampa Bay uniform. Dallas beat Brady for the first time in
the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s career. The Cowboys earned a
trip to San Francisco to face the 49ers in the NFC divisional round
next Sunday.

in his team's NFC wild-card game against Tampa Bay, becoming the
first player in NFL history to miss that many in a game. Maher’s

uprights on his fifth try, giving Dallas a 31-6 lead in the fourth

night. Brady won’t be returning home to the Bay Area for a rematch
against Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC divisional
round. He may be going home for good, however. The 45-year-old,
five-time Super Bowl MVP already retired once after last season only
to return 40 days later. He said he’ll take more time to make his
decision this time around.

UConn and Marquette lost Sunday to help give the AP poll one of its
biggest shakeups in recent history. Clemson, Baylor and Rutgers
joined FAU in entering the poll. That came at the expense of San
Diego State, Duke, Wisconsin and Missouri.

longer streaks in the 46-year history of the poll. While Baylor is
out, South Carolina continued its stay at No. 1. The Gamecocks were
the unanimous choice again from a 28-member national media panel.
They have held the top spot for 30 consecutive weeks. Ohio State,
LSU, Stanford and UConn round out the top five teams.

he stumbled on a route, went to the ground, couldn’t make the catch

try to get up but couldn’t and slammed his hand into the ground in
frustration.

Harbaugh is staying at Michigan, a decision he personally gave the
school president on Monday to end another round of speculation that
he would return to the NFL. Harbaugh says his heart is at the

new deal this week, according to a person familiar with the
situation. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of

So it's easy to assume that the rest of the Chiefs are a hardened bunch of playoff veterans.

Only the three-win Chicago Bears had more games played by rookies than the Chiefs this season, and only four teams had more first-year players start games than Kansas City.

That includes defensive end George Karlaftis, who started all 17 of his games, and cornerback Trent McDuffie, who started each of the 11 games for which he was healthy.

In fact, each of the Chiefs' 10 draft picks was active for at least one game. Eight of them started at least once.

“I mean, it starts with the organization and the coaches. They’ve set a culture here," explained Mahomes, who at 27 years old is suddenly among the elder statesmen of the franchise.

“We have a lot of veterans on our team, and when you bring in new guys, you just show them by the way you act.”

Mahomes did his part with wide receiver Skyy Moore, inviting him to voluntary offseason workouts at his home in Texas. Moore responded by catching 22 passes for 250 yards while also contributing on special teams.

Defensive end Frank Clark likewise took Karlaftis under his wing in training camp, showing the first-round pick the nuances of the game. Karlaftis had six sacks, trailing only Aidan Hutchinson and James Houston for tops among rookies.

And safety Justin Reid was instrumental in helping along a group of defensive backs that includes four rookie cornerbacks and a rookie safety, all of whom have been on the field at the same time.

Jaylen Watson had a 99-yard pick-6 that helped Kansas City beat the Chargers in Week 2, and McDuffie, Josh Williams, Nazeeh Johnson and Bryan Cook all have had moments.

The fact that they were pressed into service so often means that, at least as far as Reid is concerned, they're no longer rookies at all as they prepare to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday in the divisional round of the playoffs.

“They've had enough experience. They've had enough games under their belt,” Reid said. “They're first-year players but that title — ‘rookie’ — we really want to throw that out the window because of the experience and snaps under their belt.”

The Chiefs had 154 games played by their rookie class this season. Sixty-one times a rookie was in the starting lineup.

“I just went in yesterday again and spoke to the group and just let them know, ‘Hey, you’re at a point in the season that you’re not rookies any longer,’” added Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt.

“The guys have got to understand that it’s a faceless opponent every time. ... Technique-wise, you have to make sure you’re executing, and hopefully throughout the season you continue to get better. And that’s what they’ve done.”

It's not just on defense where rookies have shined either.

Moore was the most-touted offensive draft pick in Kansas City, and he's been helpful despite fumble problems that got him pulled from punt return duties.

But the breakout star has been seventh-round pick Isiah Pacheco, who has seemingly spent every game making every team pay for passing on him in those first six rounds.

Despite not starting the first six games, Pacheco has run for 830 yards and five touchdowns, averaging nearly 5 yards per carry. That's the fifth-best yardage total among rookies and his TD total is tied for second among first-year players.

The most impressive thing about Pacheco, and the rest of the Chiefs rookies, might be that they keep getting better.

“I’m not a big rookie wall believer-type deal. It’s professional football. This is your job,” Chiefs running backs coach Greg Lewis said with a shake of his head. “(Pacheco) has been playing football, as all the other rookies have too, their whole life.”

Never with these stakes, though. Mahomes was able to deal with the pressure; he's never lost in the divisional round of the playoffs as an NFL starter.

Houston, KU stay atop Top 25 while K-State drops to No. 13

Big winter dance or no Saturday evening, the Lady Panther wrestlers first had some business to take care of in Hays. A diminished Great Bend squad finished ninth out of 24 schools competing in the Prairie Classic. Hays, with 19 wrestlers, scored 156 points to run away with the team title. Trego Community, with just seven wrestlers, finished second with 99 points, and the Lady Panthers scored 63 points.

Third-ranked Daizy Gomez made it to the finals at 125 pounds. She picked up three quick pins, including a 34-second win in the semifinals, before getting pinned by third-ranked Kathie Chavez of Colby (4-1A).

Sophomore Danica Cline made the most of her day at 155 pounds, reaching the finals with three wins by fall. In the other half of the bracket, Trego senior Kaley Logue pinned her way to the finals and pinned Cline in the first period of the championship match.

Freshman Natalee Daniels saw round-robin action for a second-place finish at 190 pounds. She pinned her first opponent in 35 seconds and finished at 3-1 on the day with two pins. Her one loss was a pin against top-ranked and unbeaten senior Emilie Schweizer of Buhler.

Three Lady Panther wrestlers packed the 170-pound bracket. Kirra Stevens opened with a bye before winning a 16-9 decision against Junction City.&nbsp;Stevens was pinned by unbeaten and top-ranked junior Grace Johns of Minneapolis in the semifinals. Stevens won a 7-2 match on the back side before running into the same Junction City wrestler, this time falling 4-3 for fourth place.

Marissa Esparza also opened with a bye at 170, and was also pinned by Johns. Esparza finished her day at 0-2. Betsy Ramirez-Hernanded also dropped both of her matches in the bracket.

Sophomore Hannah Crathorne lost both of her contested matches at 115 pounds. Sophomore Gabriella Flores also went 0-2 in her bracket at 140 pounds, as did sophomore Melissa Martinez at 145 pounds.&nbsp;

touchdown with a 6-yard catch, and Gabe Davis extended the lead to

suspended and ultimately canceled after Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin's
heart stopped on the field. Hamlin is recovering.

(AP) — Alabama basketball player Darius Miles and another man have
been charged with capital murder after a fatal shooting near campus.
Tuscaloosa Police Capt. Jack Kennedy said the shooting occurred early
Sunday morning in The Strip off University Boulevard near campus. He
said 23-year-old Jamea Harris of the Birmingham area was shot and
killed. The 21-year-old Miles and 20-year-old Michael Lynn Davis of
Charles County, Maryland, were both charged with capital murder. The
university says Miles has been removed from the fourth-ranked Crimson
Tide. He was a reserve forward.

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) —
Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and a recruiting staff member
have been killed in a car wreck hours after the Bulldogs celebrated
their second straight national championship. The school announced
their deaths and said two other members of the football program were
injured in the crash. They were not immediately identified but the
school said both were in stable condition. The 20-year-old Willock
was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle,
24-year-old Chandler LeCroy, was transported to a hospital where she
died from her injuries. She worked as a recruiting analyst for the
Bulldogs.

2023 8-Man All-Star Game Selections

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Jaykwon Walton's 19 points helped Wichita State defeat Tulsa 73-69 on Saturday night.

Walton shot 6 for 9 (0 for 3 from 3-point range) and 7 of 7 from the free throw line for the Shockers (9-8, 2-3 American Athletic Conference). Craig Porter Jr. added 13 points while going 4 of 8 and 5 of 5 from the free throw line, and he also had eight rebounds. James Rojas recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds. Kenny Pohto had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Sam Griffin led the way for the Golden Hurricane (4-12, 0-5) with 25 points. Brandon Betson added 10 points for Tulsa. In addition, Anthony Pritchard had nine points. The loss was the Golden Hurricane's sixth straight.

Porter scored seven points in the first half and Wichita State went into the break trailing 41-27. Wichita State trailed by 11 points in the second half but went on a 7-0 run to narrow the gap to 50-46 with 12:35 left in the half before finishing off the victory

Up next for Wichita State is a matchup Thursday with Memphis on the road. Tulsa hosts SMU on Wednesday.

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — KJ Adams scored in the paint, breaking a tie with under 12 seconds left and No. 2 Kansas held off No. 14 Iowa State 62-60 Saturday.

Iowa State had a last shot to win, but Caleb Grill's 3-point attempt caromed off the rim at the buzzer.

“I don’t know that this many close games helps you in the postseason," Kansas coach Bill Self said. “Close games help you because you put yourself under duress, but I would welcome anything that’s a win. We don’t go into any game thinking it’s going to be easy."

“Today was Iowa State, then we’re at K-State, ranked 11th, TCU, Baylor, Kentucky then K-State and Iowa State right after that. That’s a joke. There’s not going to be any (easy) games," he said.

The Jayhawks commemorated 125 years of Kansas basketball, with more than 160 former players, coaches and staff at Allen Fieldhouse. They saw it go down to the last second.

“Caleb pulled up for a tough shot and it didn't fall,” Iowa State coach TJ Otzelberger said

“Credit to them. They were able to make one more play in a really good game to come out for the victory,” he said.

Kansas (16-1, 5-0 Big 12) was led by Gradey Dick with 21 points. Jalen Wilson had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Adams had 15 points.

Gabe Kalscheur scored 23 points for the Cyclones (13-3, 4-1). Osun Osunniyi chipped in 14.

The second half was a back-and-forth affair with neither team able to build more than a four-point lead in the second half. There were 12 lead changes in the second half alone.

Kansas took a 59-57 lead with just under two minutes remaining on a put-back by Wilson.

After an Iowa State miss, Kansas ran 25 seconds off the shot clock before putting up a contested 3-pointer. Several offensive rebounds resulted in Adams shooting two free throws with 1:03 left, and he made one for a three-point lead.

Kalscheur tied it with a 3-pointer with 35 seconds left. Adams then powered inside to put Kansas ahead.

“It just kind of played out. Thankfully I made the shot," Adams said.

“That was a high-level game,” Self said. “You saw two teams that enjoyed playing in a tight game like that in an atmosphere like that. No easy baskets. I wish we would have shot it better. But they're good."

“The building was great. To win with so many guys back for the reunion will definitely make tonight a lot more pleasant,” he said.

Kansas went on a 12-0 run to seize control early, but Iowa State rallied and closed to 29-28 at halftime. The Jayhawks took just 22 shots before the break and failed to get an offensive rebound in the first half.

Iowa State: The Cyclones should be a factor in the Big 12 race to the end. They can win on the road and Hilton Coliseum is one of the toughest venues in the conference.

Kansas: The Jayhawks always get their opponents' best shot, but it often doesn't matter. Head coach Bill Self still has as many conference titles as home losses in his 20 seasons at Kansas.

touchdown passes — one of the most improbable turnarounds in NFL
postseason history — and rallied the Jacksonville Jaguars to a
31-30 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Lawrence engineered the
winning drive, highlighted by Travis Etienne’s 25-yard run on a
fourth-and-1 play, and put the Jaguars in position for Riley
Patterson’s 36-yard field goal on the final play. It capped a
27-point comeback, the third largest in playoff history. Patterson’s
kick barely stayed inside the right upright and set off a raucous
celebration for a franchise that had won just four games the previous
two years.

(AP) — Brock Purdy threw three touchdown passes and ran for a
fourth score in his playoff debut, leading the San Francisco 49ers to
a 41-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in a wild-card game. Purdy
picked up where he left off in the regular season for the 49ers and
showed few signs of playoff jitters by winning his sixth straight
start since replacing an injured Jimmy Garoppolo early in a Week 13
win over Miami. The Niners advanced to the divisional round where
they will host either Minnesota, Tampa Bay or Dallas next weekend.
The Seahawks kept it close before a strip sack by Charles Omenihu
late in the third quarter spoiled a red zone drive.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.
(AP) — Damar Hamlin visited with teammates at the Bills' facility
on Saturday for the first time since being discharged from a Buffalo
hospital. The visit came 12 days after the Bills safety went into
cardiac arrest and needed to be resuscitated on the field during a
game in Cincinnati. Bills linebacker Matt Milano posted a photo on
his Instagram account of a smiling Hamlin shaking hands with a
teammate. A person with direct knowledge of Hamlin’s schedule
confirmed to The Associated Press the player’s visit. The person
spoke on the condition of anonymity because Hamlin has kept his
schedule and recovery private.

At the NCAA convention, outgoing President Mark Emmert said goodbye,
incoming President Charlie Baker introduced himself and the state of
college sports was declared unstable. Baylor President Linda
Livingstone says college sports is "both thriving and
threatened.” Livingstone is chairwoman of the NCAA’s Board of
Governors. Earlier in the day the Division I Board Division I Board
of Directors approved a host of recommendations intended to reform
the top-tier of college sports, from membership standards to the size
of championship brackets. But Livingstone re-iterated federal
intervention is needed to help preserve college sports.HONOLULU (AP) —
Hayden Buckley has a two-shot lead in the Sony Open as he goes after
his first PGA Tour victory and a spot in the Masters. It took a lot
to get there. Buckley holed out from 133 yards for eagle on No. 10.
And then he finished with an eagle on the par-5 18th. That gives him
a two-shot lead over Chris Kirk, Ben Taylor and David Lipsky. He also
has a little separation. That didn't look possible at one point
Saturday because eight players were tied for the lead. Andrew Putnam
