Michael Allen Symns, 41, of Saratoga, Wyoming, died February 22, 2021,
 at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born November 14, 1979, 
in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Robert Allen and Regina L. (Cade) 
Symns.

Michael lived in Goddard and Hays, Kansas as a child and attended 
Hays High School.&nbsp; He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 800 of 
Bar Nunn, Wyoming and enjoyed operating heavy equipment as a career.&nbsp; He
 recently worked on the Chokecherry and Sierra Madre Wind Energy project
 located near Sinclair and Rawlins in Carbon County, Wyoming.&nbsp; He was an
 avid hunter and fisherman and was most at home in the great outdoors of
 both Kansas and Wyoming.&nbsp;

He is survived by: his daughter, Sage Marie Symns of Texas; mother, 
Regina Cade (Bradley Stiggins), Partridge, Kansas; his father, Robert 
(Sabrina) Symns, Saratoga, Wyoming; brother,&nbsp; Lloyd Symns, Partridge, 
Kansas; grandmother,&nbsp; Marilyn Cade, Abbyville, Kansas; along with 
numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

&nbsp;He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs J.C. Symns and George William (Bill) Cade.

Celebration of Life Services are planned for later this year in both 
Wyoming and Kansas.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to 
either the National MS Society or a charity of your choice.

Muriel Scheck, 82, passed away February 24, 2021, at Great Bend Health &amp;
Rehab. She was born April 11, 1938, at Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Henry
&amp; Mabel (Frisbie) Bradfield. She married Hollis Earl Watkins of Waco, Texas
on January 29, 1955, at Great Bend. They were divorced in 1966. She then
married Julius Scheck, July 19, 1975, at Great Bend.

She graduated from Barton County
Community College in 1982, with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She was
employed as a registered nurse at CKMC in ICU, she then went into management as
the manager of Patient Planning Services and manager of Central Kansas Health
Services. 

Mrs. Scheck was a member of the First
Assembly of God Church in Great Bend. She served as Republican Precinct
Committee 1995 to 1999, and a member of the Great Bend City Council from 1997
to 1999. 

Survivors include, her husband, Julius
Scheck of the home; three sons, Kerry Watkins and wife Jan of Ellinwood, Kevin
Watkins and wife Pam of Independence, Kan., and Chief Master Sergeant Kemper
Watkins, USAF, of Livingston, Tex.; a daughter, Shannon Bolding of Great Bend;
three step daughters, Diana Ellis and Donna Frederick of Kansas City, Kan., and
Debra Hollis of Topeka. Other survivors include, two brothers, Tommie Long and
Larrel Long, both of Redding, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren;
3 step grandchildren; and 6 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by her parents. 

There will be no visitation as
cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday,
March 1, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding.
Inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Azria

A lifetime area resident, she was a domestic houseworker.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society, both of
Larned, and she loved her family.

Survivors include: two sisters, Ann Perez and Lola Perez,
both of Larned; two brothers, Fheno (Gracie) Perez, and Raymond (Betty) Perez,
both of Larned; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary
Perez and Josephine Perez, and two brothers, Ernest Perez and Harry Perez. 

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned, with Father Bernard Felix presiding.

Max E. Hicks, 93, died February 22, 2021, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was born January 21, 1928, in Chelsea, Oklahoma, the son of James R. and Lily Mae (Adamson) Hicks. Max graduated from Delaware High School, Delaware, Oklahoma.&nbsp;&nbsp;He then served in the Army as a Private First Class.

On July 19, 1952, he married Betty L. Cook in Great Bend, Kansas.

A longtime Hoisington resident, Max retired from Petroleum Inc., Great Bend, where he worked as a roustabout and a pumper.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a former commander of the American Legion Post #286, and a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge #331, all of Hoisington. Max enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, cards, and most of all he enjoyed his time with family especially his grand and great grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty L. Hicks of the home; two daughters, Rhonda Piland and husband Randy, and Becky Ritter and husband Keith, all of Hoisington; a brother, Alva Hicks and wife Virginia of Cape Carteret, North Carolina; 2 grandchildren, Jatim Wagner and husband Cory of Olmitz, and Justin Piland and wife Tanya of Hoisington; and three great grandchildren, Braydin Piland, Logan Wagner and Lane Wagner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Eugene, Lyle, and Marvin Hicks; and five sisters, Edith Swalley, Sarah Dodd, Pauline Wilson, Opal Heape, and Maxine Hicks.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday.&nbsp;&nbsp;Family will greet friends Thursday,an hour prior to the service. George O. Martin, Jr., 87, died February 20, 2021. He was born July 27, 1933, in Buffalo, New York, the son of George O. Martin, Sr. and Helen Boothby Kitson Martin.&nbsp;

A resident of Ellinwood since 1991, he was a poet, a stone carver, a baker, a speaker and write of newspaper columns, “Steam Whistles”, “Boiling Stones” and “Always Searching, Sometimes Finding”. He was a retired Postmaster in Partridge and Hoisington, Kansas. He was also an ordained Deacon in the Episcopal Church and belonged to St. John’s Episcopal Church, Great Bend, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956, aboard USS Yorktown, and at the Naval Air Station, Hutchinson, Kansas.&nbsp;

Taking his life forward in love and joy are his wife, Karen Kline-Martin, and their children, Mary Tran, Caitlin Cross (Joel), Fiona Esfeld (Nolan) and Samuel Kline-Martin (Emmi). There are five other children from a previous marriage, Mary Christopher, Mark Martin, Micah Martin, Myna Anderson, and George Martin IV. Grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and so many considered just family will celebrate his life in the days and years to come in their service to others.&nbsp;

Tina grew up in Great Bend. The family lived in multiple states due to military service and moved back to Great Bend 8 months ago. Tina enjoyed camping but especially loved spending time with her family.&nbsp;

Survivors include, her husband, John Jones of the home; three sons, Joshua Jones and wife Amanda of New Mexico, Jeremy Jones and wife Alexis of Horizon, Tex., and John Jones and wife Hanna of Fort Stewart, Ga.; four daughters, Misty Tapia and husband Robert of San Antonio, Tex., Megan Greco and husband Alex, Madelinn Jones and McKenzie Jones, all of Great Bend; her father, Jerrold Davis; a brother, J.D. Mary Louise Moyers, 98, longtime resident of Hays, died Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Main Street Manor in Russell.

She was born August 5, 1922 in 
Pennsboro, West Virginia, the daughter of John A. and Macy M. Farley.&nbsp; 
She attended and graduated from the Pennsboro public schools.&nbsp; Louise 
graduated from the DeSalle School of Nursing of St. Mary’s Hospital in 
Clarksburg, West Virginia.&nbsp; After graduation, she served as surgical 
nurse, emergency nurse, and later as Night Supervisor.&nbsp; On August 25, 
1948 she was united in marriage to Edwin Moyers in Clarksburg, West 
Virginia, and they celebrated nearly 53 years of marriage before he 
preceded her in death on August 20, 2001.&nbsp; They started their life 
together in Fayette, Missouri where she worked as a nurse in the area 
hospital.&nbsp; After moving to Kingsville, Texas, she worked as a nurse in 
the Kleberg Hospital in Kingsville, and later as a school nurse and 
county school nurse on the King Ranch.&nbsp; When they moved to Hays in 1959,
 she worked at Hadley Hospital, serving the last twenty years prior to 
retirement as Head of the Psychological Floor.&nbsp; Her memberships included
 Hays First United Methodist Church, the Century Club, Hays Lioness 
Club, and the Hadley Nurse’s Club.&nbsp; She loved her work as a nurse, 
listening to her husband play music as a professor of music and symphony
 member at FHSU, attending Tiger football and basketball games, overseas
 travel, her grandchildren, and her pet poodles.

Survivors include her two sons: Michael
 Moyers of Shanghai, China and Randal Moyers and wife Lorrie of Great 
Bend, KS, and five grandchildren: Justin, Alexander, Nicholas, Macy, and
 Abbie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin, and her sister Bernice.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on
 Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with

William D. “Bill” Jacobs, 76, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.

Bill was born April 16, 1944, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Casper and Mary (Schmidt) Jacobs.&nbsp; He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas.&nbsp; A 1963 graduate of La Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas, he was employed by the Rush County Highway Department for 21 years before his retirement.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus Council 2970, both of La Crosse, Kansas.

On November 10, 1978, he married Jo Ann Hammerschmidt at St. Fidelis Church, Victoria, Kansas.&nbsp;

Survivors include:&nbsp; his wife, Jo Ann Jacobs, La Crosse, Kansas; three brothers, Ralph Jacobs, La Crosse, Kansas, Leroy Jacobs, La Crosse, Kansas, and Jerry Jacobs, Hays, Kansas; one sister, Mary Lou Warren, Wichita, Kansas; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Eugene Jacobs, Virgil Jacobs, Daniel Jacobs, and Celestine “Celly” Jacobs; and five sisters, Leona Leiker, Albina Birney, Elenora Holzmeister, Louise Besperat, and Viola Dreher.

Garfield - Ronald Dee Bird, 89, passed away February 17,
2021 at Aldersgate Village Retirement Community, Topeka, Kansas.&nbsp;

Ron was born on November 19, 1931 to George W. and Ethel
(Furbeck) Bird, Larned, Kansas. 

On May 24, 1953 he married Edith Jane Roberson in Larned;
she preceded him in death on September 28, 2019.

He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda (Bob) Wilson and
Janet (Dan) Golightley of Topeka and Janell (Jim) Vineyard of Wichita, brother
Gerald (Gloria) Bird of Radford, VA, eight grandchildren and 17 great
grandchildren.&nbsp; 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife Edith Jane
Bird, sister Marjorie Barnes, and granddaughter Heather Barrows.

Dennis Dean Wise, 73, passed away February 17, 2021,
at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.&nbsp; He was born June 22,
1947, in Great Bend, to Harry S. and Lena (DeWerff) Wise. Dennis married Debbie
Livingston Nov. 11, 1967, in Great Bend. &nbsp;

Dennis, a lifetime resident of Great Bend, proudly
served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Navy. He had been an employee of
KMW, formally GBM, since 1971 retiring in 2018 as the loader development
supervisor.&nbsp; Dennis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, National
Street Rod Association and SRCA.&nbsp; Being meticulous and detailed, Dennis
enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, building street rods and restoring cars, always
willing and available to lend friends and family members a hand. He also
enjoyed fishing and hunting, but above all, spending time with his family,
especially his grandchildren. 

Survivors include wife Debbie, of the home; one
daughter: Missi Amerine and husband Craig of Great Bend; two grandchildren,
Kaeli Amerine and Kaeden Amerine; sister-in-law, Betty Wise of Longview, Texas;
nephew, Jerry Wise and wife Jayne of Longview, Texas; and great nephew, Keenan
Wise.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Wise.

There will be no viewing or visitation, as cremation
has taken place.&nbsp; Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday,
February 19, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home with military honors conducted by the

Dolores L. Kaiser, 92, died
February 16, 2021, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born March 31, 1928, on the family
farm, rural Barton County, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Birzer)
Zink. Dolores was a 1946 graduate of Bushton High School.

A lifetime Bushton resident,
Dolores was a homemaker, wonderful mother and grandmother.&nbsp; She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church
and Altar Society, the Ladies Auxiliary, 3 T Cards Club, and was a member of
the Red Hat Society.

On July 31, 1947, she married
Anthony S. “Tony” Kaiser at Holy Name Catholic Church, Bushton, Kansas. He
preceded her in death on January 29, 2005.

She is survived by three
children; Paul Kaiser of Great Bend, Beth Foster and husband Eldon of
Manhattan, Kent Kaiser and wife Mary of Bushton; sisters, Bernice Barnes of
Ellinwood, Colette Bailey of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren, Kim Bollig
and husband David, Eric Kaiser and wife Jessica, Keri Suppes and husband Chad,
Brian Foster and wife Christie, Kayla Wimmer and husband Josh, Kyle Kaiser and
fiancee Macey, and Karl Kaiser and wife Caitlyn; 12 great grandchildren and 2
step great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by
her parents, husband; son, Bert Kaiser; infant son, Terrence Kaiser; grandson,
Kevin Kaiser; brother, Virgil Zink, four year old brother, Joseph Zink, and
infant sister, Anna Zink; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Kaiser.

Stephen M. Gibson, 65, passed away February 15, 2021, at his home in Great Bend. He was born August 29, 1955, at Emporia, to Don &amp; Delores (Langley) Gibson. He married Susan Evers April 29, 2001, at Great Bend.&nbsp;

Coming from Emporia in 1970, Stephen was a Great Bend resident. He worked for GBI as a machinist for 25 years. Stephen was a member of First Bible Baptist Church and Sons of the American Legion. He loved to tell jokes and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.&nbsp;

Survivors include, his wife Susan Gibson of the home; a son, Robert Galliart and long time companion Brittany Sharp; a daughter, Candy Bunn and husband Roger, all of Great Bend; a brother, Rodney Gibson and wife Donna; a sister Tammie Bugner and husband Brad, all of Wichita; three grandchildren, Jessica Norvell and husband Aaron, Taycee Romm and husband Patrick, and Kira Bunn; and four great grandchildren. A current Great Bend resident, Randy was the manager at Wendy's. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, dancing and playing pool. Randy loved to make people laugh. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.&nbsp;

Robert Lee “Bob” Seltmann, 100, Nekoma, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.

Bob was born November 28, 1920, in Rush County, Kansas, the son of Anton and Carrie (Spreier) Seltmann.&nbsp; He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas.&nbsp; He was a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and VFW Post 3147, both of La Crosse, Kansas.

Bob was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II as a medic.

On January 1, 1949, he married Donna Yeager at the home of her mother, Edith Yeager, at Larned, Kansas.&nbsp; To this union were born two sons, Richard Lee Seltmann and Thomas Joe Seltmann.&nbsp; She preceded him in death October 27, 1975.

On May 10, 1981, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Kelling at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Hays, Kansas.

Survivors include:&nbsp; his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Seltmann; one son, Richard Lee Seltmann; two step daughters, Karen Bennett, and Kathy Buchanan (Rob); one step grandson, Kody Buchanan; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; one son, Thomas Seltmann; five brothers, Andy, Albert, Ernest, El Verne, and Harley; and four sisters, Sophia, Minnie, Lillian, and Carol.

Norbert was born July 2, 1933, in Loretto, Kansas, the son of Wendelin and Rosemary (Leiker) Urban.&nbsp; He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas.&nbsp; He was a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus Council 2340, both of Liebenthal, Kansas.&nbsp; He was a former Rush County Commissioner.

Norbert was a veteran of the United States Army.

He enjoyed bowling, visiting with family and friends, family trail rides, and was an avid Royals fan.

On May 24, 1955, he married Elsie A. Kuhn at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Liebenthal, Kansas.&nbsp;

Father Ultan Patrick Murphy, 94, passed away&nbsp;February 12, 2021, at River Bend Assisted Living, Great Bend. He was born January 6, 1927, in Quarrylands, Dunboyne, County Meath, Ireland, to James &amp; Katherine (Connolly) Murphy.&nbsp;

He attended Batterstown National School and St. Finian’s College in Mullingar and studied philosophy and theology, as a seminarian, at St. Peter’s College in Wexford, Ireland, from 1947 to 1953. Father Murphy was recruited as a seminarian by the Diocese of Wichita. He was ordained into priesthood June 7, 1953, by the Most Rev. James Staunton, bishop of Ferns, at St. Peter’s Seminary, Wexford, and offered his First Holy Mass in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Dunboyne.&nbsp;&nbsp;Following his ordination, Father Murphy was sent to the newly-established Diocese of Dodge City by Bishop Mark K. Carroll with classmates, Fathers Eugene Kenny, Andrew McGovern and Kieran Murray.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Father Murphy served as assistant pastor of St. John’s, Hoisington, and St. Rose of Lima, Great Bend. His pastorates included: St. Mary Help of Christians, Loretto, (1960-65); St. John, Kiowa, (1965-66); St. John’s at St. John, with St. Francis Xavier, Seward as a mission (1966-1970); Holy Rosary, Medicine Lodge, with St. John, Kiowa (1970-80) and St. Ann, Olmitz, with Holy Trinity, Timken (1980-2014).&nbsp;&nbsp;At the time of his retirement on Jan. 3, 2014, Father Murphy, then 87, had the distinction of being the oldest active Catholic pastor in the Kansas. He was resident pastor at Olmitz for 33 years.&nbsp;

He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus for the Olmitz Council #2100. He was always ready to share a good joke, and enjoyed fellowship with friends, golf, horse racing, and in his younger years, long walks.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Survivors include many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Joanie Phelan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, James Murphy, Vincent Murphy, Brendan Murphy, O'Connell Murphy, Eithne Sheridan and Rosaleen Shanahan; and a nephew, Con Murphy.&nbsp;

Father Ultan Patrick Murphy

Donna Jean Olsen, 90, passed away Friday February 12, 2021, at River Bend Assisted Living in Great Bend. Donna was born July 4, 1930, in Graettinger, Iowa to Melvin and Verna (Allen) Bratrud. She was united in marriage to Gaylord Dean Olsen on August 22, 1949, at Blakjer Lutheran Church in Palo Alto, County, Iowa. He passed away October 31, 2014.

Donna has been a resident of Great Bend since 2004 coming from Graettinger, Iowa, to be close to her daughters. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons Danny Lee Olsen and wife Vickie of Des Moines, Iowa and Mark Allen Olsen and wife Cheryl of Atlanta, Georgia; two daughters, Diane Kay Olsen and Coleen Mossberg both of Great Bend; one brother Alan Bratrud of Jackson, Minnesota; one sister Judy Olson of Mankato, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Trevor Olsen and Shannon Mossberg, and three great grandchildren, Shyanna Kuehler, Sheridan Kuehler and Hadley Olsen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister Marlys Macomber.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, 2:00-4:00 p.m. February 20, 2021 at Kansas Trophy Experience Lodge, 54 SE 10 Rd. Great Bend. Memorial service will be held at a later date in Graettinger, Iowa.

Vincent Zink, 81, passed away February 10, 2021, at Clara Barton Hospital,
Hoisington.&nbsp; He was born December 17,
1939, in Hutchinson, to Anton J. and Evelyn J. (Vincent) Zink.&nbsp; Donald married Beverly Joan Lichter July 23,
1960, in Olmitz.&nbsp; She died March 20,
2016.

A long-time
resident of Claflin and a veteran of the U.S. Army, Donald was an electronic
technician for various industries, retiring from U.S.D. 354.&nbsp; He was a member of Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church, Claflin, where he was involved in religious education and
served as a Eucharistic Minister and lector.&nbsp;
“The Voice of the Wildcats”, as Donald was known, enjoyed gardening,
baking pies, cheesecake and bread. Civically, he had previously served as
municipal judge for Claflin.&nbsp; Above all,
his devotion was to his family, especially enjoying time with his children and
grandchildren.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Survivors
include two sons, Daniel Zink and wife Melanie of Ellinwood, and Mark A. Zink
of Salina; three daughters, Susan R. Zink of Lindsborg, Janet M. Klug and
husband Kent of Overland Park, and Joni M. Haines and husband Don of Great

Jeannine Button, 92, passed away February 10, 2021, at Salina Regional Health
Center. She was born January 2, 1929, at Bazine, to Leo &amp; Anna (Cornelssen)
Niedens. She married Robert “Bob” Button April 21, 1999. He died October 30,
2020.

A Great
Bend resident since 1968, Coralie was a second grade teacher for USD 428 at
Washington and EE Morrison Elementary Schools. She was a member of Trinity
Lutheran Church, BCAC board member, Sigma Alpha Iota and Delta Kappa Gamma
Parnussus. Coralie enjoyed quilting and was a wonderful cook. She especially
loved spending time with her family. 

Survivors
include, a son, Steven Murphy of Great Bend; a daughter, Kathleen Asher of
Derby; a sister, Marjorie Miller; three grandchildren, Amanda Pfenninger and husband
Scott, Taylor Murphy and Will Asher; two great grandchildren, Liam Pfenninger
and Owen Pfenninger; two stepsons, Robert "Rob" Button and wife RoAnn

Coralie Jeannine Button

Thomas Virgil Phelan passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021, at John C. Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 69. 

He was born on November 19, 1951, in Great Bend, Kansas. A Midwestern man at heart, he grew up in the small town of Holyrood, Kansas, and attended Holyrood Rural High School, Barton County Community College, Fort Hays State University and Emporia State University. 

In his younger years, he worked for Air Midwest, Inc. and had the opportunity to travel the globe but loved Kansas most of all. A creative thinker and entrepreneur, Tom conceptualized, founded and operated Plum Creek Kennel with his brothers, Mark and John Phelan and friend Dave Robinette. He was a free spirit and his adventures have become family legends. 

In 2007, Tom moved to Phoenix, Arizona. A proud father and grandfather, he spent his later years supporting his grandchildren from the sidelines of all their sporting events and never turned down the opportunity to babysit. 

Tom is loved and adored by his daughter Tess, son-in-law Spencer and their children, Harper, Quinn and Arie Chupinsky and son Cody, daughter-in-law Lauren and their children Mya, Brooklyn and Parker Phelan. He is also survived by his sister Rita McCarthy and brothers, Patrick, Dennis, Mark and John Phelan, devoted friend Debbie Hughes and 14 nieces and nephews and their families.

1980, in Hoisington, and were later divorced.&nbsp;

Doran, a lifetime resident of
Hoisington, was a long time, devoted driller for L.D. Drilling.&nbsp; He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and
the Emmanuel Brotherhood, Hoisington.

Survivors include; three daughters,
Justina Yott of Hoisington, Joni Margheim of Salina and Angel Clark of Albert; ten

Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born April 26, 1947, at Great Bend, to William
&amp; Esther (Queen) Jenkins. He married Iris Rich June 16, 1972, at Great Bend
and they later divorced.

A lifetime
Great Bend resident, Jack worked for the City of Great Bend in the Parks
Department as the cemetery sexton. He was a member of First United Methodist
Church. Jack loved drag racing and was President of the Great Bend Raceway for
11 years. 

Survivors
include, his daughter, Heather Reed and husband Steven of El Reno, Okla.; a
brother, John Jenkins of Great Bend; and five grandchildren, Wesley Reed and
wife Laura, Shelbi Miller and husband Matt, Kadin Reed, Brooklyn Reed and Brayden
Reed; and two great grandchildren, Lexi Reed and Jaxon Reed. He was preceded in
death by his parents.

Jack J. “Grumpy” Jenkins

Larned – Joseph G. Haberman, 91, passed away February 10,
2021 at Kansas Soldiers Home, Dodge City.

He was born March 31, 1929 in Rush County, the son of Joseph
F. and Anna A. Skolaut Haberman.

An area resident since 1984, he was a farmer, rancher, and
painter. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the V.F.W, both
of Larned, Knights of Columbus, Kinsley, and a member of the American Legion,
Hays. He served in the United States Air Force.

On August 31, 1954 he married Helen Danler in Kinsley; she
survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Christine (John) Engle,
Topeka; three sons, Randy (Jana) Haberman, and Brian (Betty) Haberman, both of
Larned, Douglas Haberman, Hays; a brother, Henry Haberman, Timken; six
grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
