The $4 million housing project that will build 12 duplexes in the Quail Cove cul-de-sac in Great Bend for income-based seniors has figured out their lighting.
The Great Bend City Council approved a request that five street lights be placed by Wheatland Electric for the new addition. The lights will be positioned at the intersection of Eisenhower and Parrish, Parrish and Quail Cove and the remainder of the lights will be in the cul-de-sac.

Public Works Director Jason Cauley says each light will cost the city $7 per
month in electricity.
"That would be an $35 a month added to what we already spend on our street lights," said Cauley. "There would be no other additional costs for installation."
Housing Opportunities, Inc. (HOI) is handling the project and paying for the
extended Parrish Road, curb, gutters and sidewalks without adding to anyone’s
property taxes. The Quail Cove project will have an entrance off Eisenhower,
just behind the Medicalodges nursing home.
