Barton Community College reported a “medical emergency” Thursday afternoon on their Great Bend campus.
According to their statement, “Campus is completely safe and secure. No students, employees, or members of the public that were on campus are in danger or were in danger.”
The college’s communications team notified the media that no further information would come from the college on the extent of the emergency and that future questions would have to be answered by law enforcement.
According to a Barton entity on campus, the emergency involved a non-student adult.
The college’s communications team did note they would be sending out grieving consultation options and suicide prevention information to students and faculty if needed.
