KIOWA COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 2:30p.m. Wednesday in Kiowa County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Buick Enclave driven by Jordan Jae Stauth, 37 Haviland, was traveling on U.S. 54, one half mile east of 37th Avenue.
The SUV crossed the eastbound lane onto the eastbound shoulder and collided head on with an eastbound 2011 Kenworth semi driven by Moyer, Richard M. Moyer, 74, Haviland.
Stauth was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Hatfield-Prusa Mortuary. EMS transported Moyer to Kiowa County Hospital. The KHP had incomplete seat belt usage information due to the fire.
